Beginning this Sunday, March 9, Hope United Methodist Church will be worshipping at 10:30am at the former First UMC of Bellevue building (1934 108th Ave NE).
This Sunday we are gathering for the first time as Hope UMC and we are beginning Lent! For this Lent, we will be using the theme of “Cultivating and Letting Go.” Lent is a season of spiritual gardening, of inviting God to unearth in us what lies fallow, what needs to be tended, and what needs to die for new life to emerge. This year, our weekly worship service offers us images and stories with themes of earthiness and grit. Each time we gather, we will be asking what we need to be nurturing and what we need to be releasing.
For this first Sunday in Lent, we will be looking at cultivating resilience and letting go of powerlessness.
